Evenings At Harbourfront:

This program offers a concentrated canoeing course focused on sahety and skills. The course includes portaging, rescue and the most important strokes to control your canoe. Sessions run from 5:30 to 9:00 pm on Tues. and Thurs.

Weekends At Harbourfront:

Perfect for a beginner to intermediate canoeist. Develop your skills amongst the fabulous Toronto Island Archipelago. Topics include exits and entries, seating positions, safety and rescues, basic portaging, changing positions, draws, prys, the "J" stroke, tandem and some solo paddling and canoe design. Participants should bring a lunch or be prepared to buy one. Fee includes all canoeing equi to pment. Classes run from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Solo Paddling Days at Harbourfront:

This is the art of canoeing, learning to make your canoe dance on the water. A great addition that gives you a basic day of understanding and practicing the techniques needed to control your boat paddled solo. The course runs 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Dates: July 19, August 17

Fee: $95 Cdn + gst

Day Trips at Harbourfront:

Canoe Day Trip: Come on out and enjoy a relaxing canoe trip with one of our leaders right from our office! Beginners are welcome and we will match you with a paddling partner if you don't have one. Bring a lunch and water bottle for a fun-filled day! The day begins at 10:30 am and ends by 4:00 pm.

Dates:July 5, 27 and August 16, 24

ORCA Lakewater Skills Levels I & II at Harbourfront:

This Lakewater solo course is geared to the canoeist who would like to gain complete control of his or her craft. Demonstrations, technical paddling, detailing and advanced paddling opportunities will all help integrate body, canoe, paddle and water. Individuals attempting a Level II certification should either already have their Level I or permission from the course instructor. The course runs from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Dates: August 3-4

Fee: $189 Cdn + gst

ORCA Basic Instructor at Harbourfront:

This 4 day course allows successful participants to certify canidates at the basic level. All participants for this course must be 16 yrs. of age or older and must have Level I ORCA certfication. The course takes place over 2 weekends at Harbourfront from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm each day.

Dates: April 27-28 and May 11-12.

Fee: $375.00 Cdn + gst

ORCA Tripping Level I & II at Frontenac Provincial Park:

This Canoe Tripping Level I & II course offers all of the canoe tripping basics and a great outdoor experience as well. Fee includes tents, canoes and instruction. $30 Cdn discount if you bring your oun canoe. The course runs from 11 am Friday (meet at the park) to 4:30 pm on the holiday Monday.

Dates: May 16-19.

Kayak

Pool Sea Kayak Rescue Course:

These 2 hour sessions in a downtown Toronto pool will reasure the beginner or experienced paddler how easy it is to escape an overturned sea kayak and get back in from the water. With an instructor standing beside you, you can learn solo and assisted re-entry procedures, improve your confidence and most importantly your personal safety. Choose either a 7:00 or 9:00 pm start. Maximum class size 6.

Fee: $75.00 Cdn + gst

Kayak Day Trip:

This is your chance to take some time off and relax. Join us as we paddle through the Toronto Island Archipelago with one of our leaders right from our office! Kayakers with some experience (an evening course perhaps) are welcome and we will choose different routes on different dates. Bring a lunch and water bottle for a fun-filled day! Your day begins at 10:30 am and ends by 4:00 pm.

Dates: July 13 and August 17

Fee: $75 Cdn + gst

ORCA FW & SK1- Weekend Kayak Courses at Harbourfront:

These great weekend skill sessions will be spent in the fabulous Toronto Island Archipelago. Participants have the opportunity to achieve their Flatwater Certification and possibly their Sea Kayak 1 Canada-wide levels . We will spend lots of time on the water, striving to become intimate with the special "feel" of the sea kayak. This course will take you from the beginning stages to expedition training and rescues, and will most importantly give you time to ask questions and refine the paddling skills you have learned. Classes will run from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Participants should bring a lunch or be prepared to buy one. Maximum class size is 6 people.

Fee: $210 Cdn (20% off May) + gst

One Evening Kayak Courses at Harbourfront:

One Evening Kayak Courses: The waters of our Great Lakes are perfectly suited to this sleek craft. Take advantage of these one evening training sessions and familiarize yourself with the equipment and the special skills so that you can enjoy yourself kayaking whenever the opportunity arises. Most of the past participants of this course feel confident enough to come down to our office to rent kayaks after attending. Courses are very popular so register early to avoid disappointment. Most of the evening is spent on the water. Course runs 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Maximum class size is 6 people.

Paddle "Beyond" Kayak Training:

These evenings take you beyond what you learned in the evening or weekend course to continue your efficiency training. Learn more advanced techniques and get rid of bad habits in these evening paddles to the islands. Training runs from 5:30 pm to 9 pm. Maximum class size is 6 people.
